State Aid and Foreign Subsidies Regulation
We advise Government departments, state agencies, semi-state bodies and private sector clients across a range of industries on the application of EU State Aid rules and have extensive experience of engaging with the European Commission on State Aid issues. Our team advises on a broad range of State Aid matters, including assessing the compatibility of public funding with EU rules, identifying and applying relevant State Aid exemptions and preparing formal notifications to the European Commission on behalf of the Irish State.
We have a leading reputation in this area with a strong track record of advising on high-profile and complex matters across a range of sectors. Our expertise ensures clients structure compliant funding solutions, secure exemptions (where appropriate) and engage effectively with the European Commission.
Separately, we also advise on the application of the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation. We support clients in assessing filing obligations, preparing notifications to the European Commission and handling the review process.
“The Arthur Cox team is practical and delivers its advice in a way that non-lawyers can understand.”
