SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS IMPACT REPORT 2021 / 2022
Workplace
Culture
We continuously strive to ensure that we have a work environment where are people are happy, feel that they are valued and can achieve their professional goals.
In a recent firm-wide survey that resulted in in over 2,000 pieces of individual commentary, we were proud to hear that so many of our people feel our firm is a friendly, collaborative and welcoming place to work. That said, we acknowledge that we still have more to do when it comes to areas like work life balance. Feedback is key to progress and our culture survey has provided us with valuable information on how our firm’s culture is changing. It also gave us valuable information on how we can move forward to improve the firm.
Our staff survey provided us with an opportunity to hear what our people have to say. Much of this was positive, but we acknowledge that we still have many areas to work on. We are committed to maintaining what is good and to finding ways to address areas that have been identified for improvement.
WORKPLACE WELLBEING
The health and well-being of our staff is of the utmost importance to our firm. To help ensure everyone is physically and mentally fit, we have implemented wellness programmes to protect and support our staff. In February 2022 we were pleased to once again hold our Fit4Feb Challenge. This is a month long initiative that encourages people in the firm of all fitness levels to get more active, have fun and raise money for the firm’s three charity partners.
We provide an Employee Assistance Programme to support our employees with counselling and information services whenever they require it. The firm also offers annual mindfulness courses and all employees can also enjoy the benefits of our onsite gym and a variety of fitness classes. We have been delighted to continue to host wellness talks and webinars for our people to share tools and techniques they can use in their everyday lives. We also provided in-person health screening for our people via ADP during our Wellness Week in April.
DISABILITY AND ACCESSIBILITY
disAbility Network
The firm is pleased to have joined the disAbility Legal Network which was launched in December 2021 on International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities
We are also pleased to continue our partnership with the Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities (TCPID). TCPID’s mission is to enable people with an intellectual disability to develop their potential by a combination of high quality research, dissemination of new knowledge, lifelong learning and professional training. It provides students with intellectual disabilities with the opportunity to participate in a higher education programme designed to enhance their capacity to fully participate in society as independent adults.
