MINIMISING WASTE
We are pleased to report that the firm has achieved Zero Waste to Landfill for 2022 certification (January to June) on all our waste streams generated onsite at Ten Earlsfort Terrace. This certification confirms that all of our waste generated on-site is diverted from landfill.
These waste streams include:
- Mixed Municipal (general waste)
- Mixed Dry Recycling
- Food and Compost
- Confidential Paper (shredding)
- Used Cooking Oil (generated in our restaurant kitchens)
This certification was achieved through a number of measures taken to ensure the close management of our on-site waste including:
- relabelling our segregated bins to ensure the correct items are placed in the correct bin
- ensuring our on-site contractors (catering and cleaning) are follow our waste protocols
- visiting our waste collection partner’s waste treatment facilities to ensure our waste is being processed in the most environmentally sustainable manner
- working closely with our waste collection partners to obtain accurate statistics of all our waste generated and collected from Ten Earlsfort Terrace.
The certification contributes to the reduction of our Scope 3 Emissions for Waste and also assists us in reaching our 2025 emissions reductions targets.
Printing
All our staff are set up with dual screens in order to minimise the need for printing and paper usage. We eliminated all individual desk printers and introduced centralised, secure Follow Me print multi-functional device printers. All printing is set default to black and white and double-sided settings. Our paper is 100% recyclable and we constantly monitor usage.
Catering
We continue to engage with our catering supplier to emphasise our commitment to becoming a more sustainable firm and to fulfil our carbon reduction commitments. Our catering supplier has its own Sustainability Working Group that has a passion for fresh, healthy food and takes pride in supporting local growers within their supply chain. They are committed to sourcing ingredients in Ireland wherever possible and this in turn allows us as a firm to trace our food back to the farmer or grower.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
As a firm we are committed to efficient energy usage at our offices at Ten Earlsfort Terrace. We are pleased to have reduced our electricity consumption (kWh TFC) by 27% compared to our 2018 baseline and our gas consumption (kWH TFC) by 48.1% compared to our 2018 baseline. We have successfully completed our full external recertification audit via Certification Europe in May 2022 and have also received recertification of our ISO50001:2018 Energy Management accreditation in June 2022. We attained this certification first in 2019 and we are required to be fully recertified every three years.
